It’s the smartest way to start off the school year. If you’re a college student, faculty, or staff member and you buy a Mac before September 15, you can get a free iPod Touch or iPod nano. After all, isn’t college about seizing every opportunity? I took advantage of this offer about a month ago and have not looked back. The 8 gb iPod Touch itself is $300! As each new iPod is released, I always feel my 2-year old 60 gb Classic iPod is outdated. The great thing about this deal is that you can upgrade to an iPod with more memory and regardless of its size, still receive the Apple $300 rebate, i.e 16 gb is $399 or $99 after rebate and the 32 gb is $499 or $199 after rebate.
